People often ask, "Why does my sound file stop playing when I advance to the next slide?" or "How can I play the same sound throughout my entire slide show?" Here's how. (Note: These directions are for PowerPoint 2000.)
1. Insert your sound
2. Go to "Slide Show" then "Custom Animation"
3. Check the "Media" box that represents the sound file you inserted
4. Click on the "Multimedia Settings" tab
5. Check the "Play using animation order" box
6. Check "Continue slide show"
7. Change the number of slides you want the sound to play. I use "999," for example, if I want the sound to continue playing throughout the entire presentation. If it's a short sound and you want it to play over and over again, click on "More options" and check the "Loop until stopped" box
