Advantage of SCORM Compliant Package: Switch among Blackboard, Moodle or Other LMS Systems
Filed under General Articles, Tool Tips |
I’ve been asked many times for the immigration of quiz questions from Blackboard/WebCT to Moodle, or vice versa. And a lot of relevant discussions such as Using Moodle: Importing Blackboard Quiz into Moodle are rather hot in Moodle’s forum. I always suggest the instructors to publish quiz contents as SCORM compliant packages with any authoring tools, rather than directly using quiz module in a LMS. Simply I’m not doubting the quiz capability of a LMS, but recommend the advantage of using Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM), the standards and specifications for Web-based e-learning, to avoid any incompatibilities between learning systems.
Certainly, you may read one of my previous posts “Make SCORM Compliant Quiz for LMS to Evaluate Online Learning Performance” to obtain more detailed information about SCORM compliant package instead of quiz module in Learning Management System/Learning Content Management System.
